| Hey, something weird happened to me today. I have folder on my computer and I access it several times a day. It is my folder with all my good stuff. Music, programs, pictures, etc... Well I wanted to open it and...its gone. It wasn't on my desktop...my garbage can...nowhere. Everything else was there. Only thing missing was my folder...i'm like I finally had to use system restore which caused me to lose alot of work. Has anyone else every experienced anything like this? ------------------ Also, earlier today a car accident happend right infront of me. I was sitting in a parking lot chillin with friends and this blue car was making a left turn and ended up spinning out and hitting a car. what a day.... | |

| i assume you have Windows vista or 7 right??? well system restore was fast wrong action you made. i dont think if you might have done this but if you had another folders on the same destination where the missing Folder was stored , check if you moved your lost Folder inside them. otherwise you could have searched for the folder with start --> search --> search for file or Folders. and if you still can not find it. then you might have deleted it accidently and you need to undelete it if it is still recoverable with help of a special Program like "Tune Up Utilities" or such....

| Yep.
As Rico says, search for it first.
Surprisingly easy to accidentally drag a folder and drop it elsewhere (usually into another folder if it appears to have gone AWOL) without realising you've done it.
Done it a couple of times myself at home and witnessed it (and had to sort it) a few times at work as well.

| well another Tip would be if the Folder is kind of Big like more than 500 MByte then you need to just check your Harddisk with the Method "Devide an conquer" if you do not know the algorithem: its easy as hell start in C and check all Files there what ever they are System folders or not hidden or not and Open the Folders bigger than 500 and on your way just ignore the Folders Smaller than 500 MB. and keep Openning the big files till you find your Folder. there is just no way the system can delete it or hide it from it self. if you find a big Folder with more than 500 MByte in it but the Folder is Empty, then you need to show Protected system Files and Directories. ask if you do not know how to do that with naming your Operation System.....
but i would start with the undelete Program "Tune Up Utilities" which show You first all files which were deleted at a certain Point where they could be recovered even if they were deleted with "Shift + Delete" which i believe is the case with your Folder.
