This was my first idea, too. But I only have one dog and it is a dog B. My sig is a good example. Or do they count a panther as a dog A?

No. You get dog A / B / C in a random order. They are different. However in your cell you cannot make the difference between dog A / B / C.

That isn't true.
You can randomly get any possible combination of dogs, e.g C - A - B If I remember correctly someone said the dogs differ in HP they cost.

Yes, i also believe they are different, once i got the dog b in a brute (can't remember which though), i noticed it attacked multiple times, and the other still attacked only once
