Doing a 6th sense once in a fight, dodging a hit with 25 agi against 8. No surprise there.

You have to take more hp, ideally vita and try to find persev/implacable if you want this MA build to be competitive. I forgot the antipet too.

Here you can see two of the dodges followed up by a pugnace attack,
so it's probably just times when shield theoretically should block, but
instead you dodged or was holding a two hand making it harder to block.
Seems like the 10% extra to block from counter is the reason (In other
words, +10% pugnace)

Well did you watch the fight I posted or not? Barehand
pugnace attacks after dodging, twice. If it's 10% or not,

since counter tooltip says something about +10%, not like I
ever translate them either so ofcourse I could be wrong

And there's no reason to why it shouldn't be simple either, honestly
do you think they'd focus this much on hidden stats and effects when
they can't even balance the most simple things already (Flail for starters)

I saw a lot of counter brutes being pugnace in Kitty's career.
I just said I have some doubts about your reasoning with the 10%.

The game is balanced overall. The power of the flail is just the direct consequence of the reward for being offensive.

The game may be balanced overall, but there's no excuse for some of these bugs. The infinite renforts bug and the loser advancing in the tourney bug are two real game-breakers and should have been dealt with months ago. One or two developers familiar with the code could probably track those down and squash them in an afternoon. The bugs in perseverant and contre are only compounded by the fact that even if they weren't buggy, those skills would be overpowered and far too common. It's very frustrating to lose yet another match to yet another clown with contre and a shield, let alone because of a bug in that very skill.

Well I''ll leave the theory department to you guys.

The % pugnace of contre isn't what make this skills cheated, it's just a plus, even if it wasn't broken, this skill would still be one of the top skills by far.

It can be very frustrating in fact.

Playing it with an awesome brute in a high rank tournament against someone you always beat can be like Burton's "Alice in Wonderland".
Amazing realisation, awesome actor, based on a fabulous story you already now but in the end you keep shouting in your head "What the fu**, why is it going like this, it's not like this, what the hell is going on, give me back what it deserves to be !"
