Very nice brute, an excellent ninja. I would never give up on vitalite if I were you, it's extremely good stat booster for ninjas. Sang-chaud is perhaps the best ninja skill, it protects you 99% against vandalisme and you can sometimes kill opponents before they can move.

You are right that perseverant does not affect thrown weapons at all, so it's useless until you're disarmed. Choc will also prove to be of limited usefulness, only at the very start (and then only to get rid of shields) and after disarmament, chiefly against voleurs. I would recommend starting your exploration there. If you really love it, I'd recommend getting rid of 6eme sens, Grizzlism will tell you why I'm sure.

Frankly, none of the weapon subpaths are ones I'd choose, not even the sai. (You've already got choc in that path.) Fouet would be a good one, but hallebarde isn't good enough unless you've got 6eme sens, maitre, and preferably implacable. Arts Martiaux should be top of your list; voleur is actually kind of lame at low ranks because you'll have so many opponents with crap weapons.

My advice: take strength instead of choc at level 9 and see what turns up.

Really didn't think about this Subpath Punch !
As you said, choc is before I go in ninja mode the best way to get rid of those annoying counter/shield brutes (actually my worst match up exept the BFéroce/Flail 1shot through your shield) and if I'm disarmed, my only way to hope get the time to finish my opponent if he gets a good weapon in hand.
But have to admit than in most of the fight I don't use it.
And I would prefer to get Tête instead of Choc @.@

I'm really thinking of trying it but giving up choc I really hesitate to just change path as soon as possible as shield isn't this rare (and I would better try to go on a dodge way than a parry way with her) and not getting vitalité I would propably get an other stat booster (maybe same one) on my way. You put me into an hesitation mode !
Happily I'll have plenty of rank to try those out.

For 6th sense I know it's double slicing weapons. Can screw me against tete de fer but can save me against choc (plus the bonus against Puncher, Knife/MoA ...)
I actually saw a lot more of Brutes with choc and the % disarming is higher so it would *on the paper* helps me more than it would makes my lost.
Anyway if at the end of the game I choose the 6th sense path I would be only to go with MA/Whip. For hallebarde you're probably right but I really hope she's going to grow an agi way so perserverant would still take interest.

I would only try Saï to see what's behind and hoping for counter to come to me as as you said, getting choc remove interest from Saï.

Edit: Why I love Choc (Even if the opponent isn't this dangerous) http://labrute.muxxu.com/fight/108359331?chk=2628
http://labrute.muxxu.com/fight/108360384?chk=d91a Same here even if his weapon was worst than his fists, won't be the case in higher rank.
http://labrute.muxxu.com/fight/103677560?chk=c235 Would have make me win the tourney if I had a higher level (Net/Choc, nothing could be worst exept Hypnose/Choc).

On the other hand, those videos proves the use of shield against those annoying chocker.

I would try first the subpath lvl 6, that is to say +3 spd instead of vita. You generally have a stat ability before lvl 10.

I'll take an example, my brute Shiro Kitty.
I have refused vita twice before having hercu lvl 9. A ninja is really boring, especially if you're not agility based. If you have feline, you'll be a full fledged ninja. If you have hercu, it'll spice up your life, and you'll be able to kill bare hands.
It's better to explore low levels when you have lots of noobs to kill. Twisted Evil

Yep that's the path I'm looking forward too for a long time.
Even if it's maybe not the safer choice, better to do it in pichenette than later.

I was also thinking of rejecting stars to see what's behind but I think i'll do this only if I don't find anything interesting in vitalité subpath and choc's one.
As Punchy said, Sang Chaud really shines with shuriken, and my bear is a perfect decoy too as ninja is the more "item dependant" brute you can encounter.

Edit:

I begin to get some doubt about it. Would you have some matches vs a ninja Punchie ?
http://labrute.muxxu.com/fight/108841753?chk=9349 Opponent get 5 speed, Throw Shuri immediatly, 13 hit.
http://labrute.muxxu.com/fight/108841856?chk=a6a6 Opponent get 5 speed, Throw Shuri immediatly, 14 hit (1blocked)
The last opponent use a potion so it's faster than the normal action from 1rst opponent.
Could it be because of the Init mechanism ?

I hate where you want abilities but all that comes up is weapons i see that happened with you on lvl 10 - 19 where you got two abilities outta 9 levels i would give either the lance or glaive or couteau a try maybe you will get MOA and a few more abilities cause it seems when you will pick a weapon a ability would show its self thats what happened with one of my brutes he had three abilities and no weapons by lvl 9 and i finally gave up and got a weapon....i didnt read what it was and it turned out to be a flail which later got me armour and a handfull of other abilities and stats

Actually, there's a lot of merit to what Tama is suggesting, giving up Vitalite. It's true that stat boosters are very common in the first 10 levels but you really only get one. Vit is a good one, but of course feline is better and the others are good too. I have a ninja with sang-chaud and frappe eclair who can throw like 25 stars in the start and then 15 per round.

But, ninjas are different. They advance fast, win training fights easily, have mega stats, and yet have real trouble winning a tourney because of that Achilles heel. So you need to try to have a backup -- the best is MA, but voleur works, and of course the bear is very useful.

Here's a good example, a fight against Abrarakoursix, the second-best ranked ninja in the game and the best "pure" ninja (no voleur):
http://labrute.muxxu.com/fight/106063212?chk=5123

The keys for him are 1) agility, which improves both accuracy and damage 2) intouchable, which works with agility to provide defense 3) arts martiaux, which provides a decent backup when he gets disarmed. Also in the mix is tete-de-fer to protect against weapon-focused brutes, but that's really just icing on the cake.

And after all this, he can't win tourneys. But here's one that's extremely good at winning tourneys, Lud0 <3:

http://labrute.muxxu.com/fight/106039636?chk=dcb8

Note that in many ways they're similar -- arts, intouchable, feline, peau. But he's got speed for offense, increvable for defense, and that super flexible voleur. What happens when they meet?

http://labrute.muxxu.com/fight/106107740?chk=598b

Abra has him beat until it's voleur time, then it's basically over. True, Lud0 had five levels on him, but even so it was a total mismatch because of voleur. I suggest you study these guys -- and to some extent the lesser ninjas, Elvira and LMC, to see what you can learn from them.

Very instuctive post, thank you.
Actually I'm thinking than if you don't get the combo Agilité du félin + untouchable it's not possible to be an exellent ninja. Kind of sad.
Also MA seems to be a requirement.
I think than getting pets (against non ninja) and a shield would increase their efficiency.

Lvl 20, hache or +3 endu.
Two fu**ing more levels.

You really should have a look at Elvira. I hate LMC by the way. I don't like ninjas but he's a special case. Don't ask me why... Maybe because he is speed based.

You have Filou too, vita & thief, who has a shield and counter :
It's raining. Filou10

Elvira was at Kitty's level when we were in Hemo (youth...seems so far away). So many ninjas' asses to kick in the old times.
It's raining. Elvira10
I like her. She has sang chaud, feline and MA ! I really don't know if persev works on shuri, I never had a ninja destiny with it.
Later, she gets some nince things like armor and vandalisme (not sure about this one).

She is a good example of a well done ninja which is not as hard to make as a Ludo <3 who is the best ninja in the whole game.

Grrrrr, when I think I have to avoid all them until Kitty is lvl 16.

PS : Thx Silpelit for spying

It's not necessary to have feline + untouchable to be a good ninja, but it helps. Agility is the best skill for a ninja because it increases accuracy and damage both. Untouchable (and agility) helps you against choc and vandalisme.

Speed based ninjas are very interesting. Speed makes you throw more stars per round, depending on the speed of your opponent. (No, perseverant does not work with shuriken, I know this from PunchDrunk.) Sang-chaud is best for any kind of ninja because it helps you draw your stars before a vandal can get them, but failing that, ballerines would work. I've never seen a meditation/frappe ninja but I bet they can be nasty.

Strength based ninjas are uncommon, but versatile. Sloyn is one of these, but he's not great. All three have the same ultimate weakness, voleur -- there's no defense against it. Having voleur yourself can help you steal it back, but it can also make you discard your stars in favor of something crappy.

From what I've seen, the best ninjas have a backup. That can be MA, or it can be voleur, or it can be bombe -- ninjas with bombe tend to throw both bombs in the first round or two of stars, usually in sang-chaud if they can. But you have to assume that you'll lose your stars sooner or later and be able to both inflict damage and protect yourself. Here's an illustration with my ninja Quacky:

Oh, and here's a fun ninja-v-ninja fight with my brute ShockingImplication, who is a vie-based brute. They can be powerful as well, as evidenced by the immortal ninjas Mathieu Lagarde and the late lamented Pall Mall.

Vit based ninja doesn't seems to be useless but they won't be as good as dodger for some obvious reason.
Their defense is based on the ability to get hitten.
And as choc is very common ability in top level brute, it's definitely not the best thing for a ninja in my opinion.

Bomb isn't a good option for me.
If it's usefull at low level, for a ninja high level, throwing a bomb instead of 1 or 2 stars (with a good speed i'm pretty sure than throwing a bomb cost as much than throwing at least 2 shuri) doesn't worth it in my opinion, even if the opponent get some pets. And I don't know why but bombs user seems to always throw it some rounds after the match begun ...

Elvira get such a great set up at level 9 ....

So lvl 21 was Peau or +3 endu ...

She finally turned into a Pichenette.
Didn't take Vita at level 6 for +3 speed.
Lvl 7 was Shield or +3 agi ... Very Happy
So funny. If Choc is popping out next level something is fu**ed with their system xD

Can feel the difference of HP even if she's winning almost all her matches and won 2/3 matches per tournament.

Well, a vie-based ninja is much easier to disarm than one that blocks or dodges well, and it's harder to fight after you're disarmed if you don't have good strength or agility. Mathieu had a shield and contre and bear to back up his immortality and he was very near the top ranked brute in the game before he apparently lost interest and stopped playing.

Pall Mall I don't remember quite as well but he was very powerful, Rico bought him from another forum member but then lost the brute when he got banned. Alas.

It's not to use the ability, it's just to make a subpath. (Even if I could use it for the fun and rape the other ninjas, I rarely loose a fight and don't use the 3 injures unless I find on my way a lot of choc/net combo brutes.
And even against them, if they waste some turns hitting the bear before throwing the net it's a win.)

And the one with epee I'll try it later, but going to play epee without counter/shield, MoA, 6th sense and/or Perse isn't this great. Plus it means risking my shuri in the fight. It would mostly be for the fun being Punchy's disciple Very Happy (And because the epee is really fancy when holded with a shield).
The path with I would take a second weapon is the first one as I get a bit of str, 6th and Perse.

But until now the stats gain has been good (only agi and spd). The dog is perfect for my bear and don't make me lose hp so it's actually not a genius skill, but will increase a lot my % to win against net user.

9 levels to get required skill until she turns into the next rank.
Already went to the semi twice level 9 and 10 Surprised
