No hesitation at all: ped is the pick from level 183 up.
Hammer is imo not that useful. Deluge may however be much more useful for high str brutes (more damage, and always hits the opponent).
However, ped has almost the same str, more agi, more spd, untouchable, even pugnacious at high level, therefore I would not hesitate a second :-)

However and unlike Sioc i love hammer on a strength brute (i like it in any brute but in strength ones it becomes a great help)

Problem with hammer vs deluge is that you may use hammer against a pet (and hence wasting a tour), unlike for deluge :-)

Absolutely true, however i still prefer it to deluge
You still need thief, many weapons or good fists (martial arts+good str) when you have deluge Wink

What stat does improve the damage of the deluge skill?

I believe its AGILITY and not STRENGHT

Common sense would tell that STR improves deluge damage.

You can indeed run a few simulations with different brutes with deluge and similar agility (against the same opponent) but big strength difference in order to check the order of magnitude of damage inflicted by deluge.

For example at level 100, the following brutes all do have deluge and same agility (39):

Ok, I'll venture a opinion as a guy who has owned agi killers.

Hammer is not a weapon I like. Like Sioc says wasted on opponent who will dodge it almost 99%. But that 1% is devastating. I do not depend on it and hate to it pick up.

Deluge, Love it!

A good Agi killer was high Str and decent Agi, ped does.
Skills are import. Anything that will disrupt and give multiple attacks is what a agi killer needs.

The weapons I hope he uses. knives, whips, staff, and throwing stuff. Why....harder to dodge and has multi attack. The high Str will make them worth it.

and yes hammer the weapon rarely hits Razz

As for the Hammer skill: Can be great for a STR brute sometimes, but mostly not a very good skill. Eg. It is mostly a waste on an AGI brute.

no doubt about importance of velocity in a Str brute.

Than you all (almost) said hammer isn't so useful, while deluge is slightly better. Ok!

Then only one point remains to be clarified: how much important is intouch for a STR brute?

A STR brute, imho, most times have to face brutes with more agility than itself, so agility works to give the brute more chance in hitting,
and is not useful for dodging, since you can't dodge anyway (most times) an opponent who have implace and more agility than yours.
In that case doesn't matter if you have intouch or not. Am I right?

I cant tell honestly... It's confusing

High strenght brute deluge VS Low strenght brute deluge

High strenght brute deluge VS High agility brute deluge

In this example the low strength brute did a bit more damage than the high agility one, but probably due to the fact that the high agility one threw less weapons than the low strength one.

What you should look at it the effect of deluge of two brutes with same agility but different strength (and more or less the same number of remaining weapons when deluge is activated), so that you see if strength plays a role for deluge damage (my guess is it does, your guess was that it doesn't iirc).
