| One time I got this speed which doesn't make sense lol. Since I'm on ADSL 2+ and the maximum speed is 24Mb/s  My old speed was about 16Mb/s but my isp is having some problems in the area.  This is my current speed.  Speed is good in australia, but price is terrible per/GB I'm paying $70/month for 45gig on peak and 45gig off peak (offpeak is only 6 hours long) EDIT: Whoops mega typo lol.

I'm paying for 3Mbps... Mega BITS per second! I always thought it was Mega BYTES per second... man, oh man.
That means, (Since 8 bits = 1 byte) my max download speed is 375 Kbps... BAH! | |

| wouldnt trust that speed test most of the guys were using... to me it shows I have something like 4mbit connection... but what I have in the reality is 14mbit (I pay for 16mbit though) and my download- speed is 1.5 megaBYTE the second... when the server I am downloading from is able to give it to me for sure :)
dont know to whom that speed- test is lying either... | |

| For me its been quite reliable. Perhaps you should retest it on a local server.
Only time it was unreliable for me was when it said me 34mb/s. | |

Closer to the exchange, as we don't have fibre yet distance makes a big deal of difference | |

BAH! b = bits B = bytes 3Mbps != 3MBps Looking at your previous test, 3.88 Mbps is actually higher than what they promised And many are in the same boat as you. For the longest time I was getting 3Mbps which later upgraded to 5Mbps on ADSL. Not much different from yours. But then I added 10Mbps with cable :) Which is still only about 1.2 MB/s. A rate of 3MB/s would require a 25Mbps connection. | |
