New Tournament!!! The Lethal Lottery INFO AND SIGN-UPS

I had an idea for a new tourney that probably hasn't been done yet. It'd be a tag team tourney with a twist. This tournament MUST be played on http://brutetools.eg2.fr/sdcs-on.php (sorry, oontrack users) Sad

It'd be 32 entrants: each entrant would enter 2 brutes. 64 brutes total.(as always this could grow if more entrants are available, but I'm not gonna promise anything)

Once the sign up is closed all the brutes would go in the randomizer and the Lethal Lottery would begin. It'd be pretty much like Bob's car keys where each brute would be paired with a random partner. Just to be clear everyone controls THEIR own brutes.

the 32 teams would then be put into 4 separate groups of 8 teams each and the tournament will start. It will be TAG TEAM MATCHES fought under round-robin rules. 3 Fights against every team in your group. Top 5 teams in each group advance to the next round.

After each round there will be a redraw of level, groups AND TEAMS!!! So your partner in round 1 probably won't be your partner in round 2. Here's a recap of the structure of the tournament:

First Round: 32 teams broken into 4 groups of 8, 3 fights against each team, top 5 teams in each group advance: Levels, groups, and teams redraw
Second Round: 20 teams broken into 4 groups of 5, 3 fights against each team, top 2 teams in each group advance: Levels, groups, and teams redraw
Third Round: 8 teams broken into 2 groups, 4 fights against each team, top 2 teams advance: levels and teams redraw
Semifinals: 4 teams in one group, 5 fights against each team, top 2 advance: levels and teams redraw
Finals: Best of 13

The tournament will be fought between levels 1-500. Everything will be done using random.org. I will most likely give 1-2 days (From TM to TM) to complete each round due to the number of fights necessary, but I will be strict about the time limits and POSTING and CONFIRMING will be expected from ALL OWNERS. If one team member posts or confirms, but the other team member does not, I WILL DQ THE TEAM so be forwarned! Evil or Very Mad

Sign-ups open immediately. The tournament won't start till at least next week, work just became a mess, but that will give everyone time to come up with their strategy and winning brutes. Let's make this a great tournament and let the Lethal Lottery begin

** NEWS & NOTES **

Lumi has offered a pupil prize for this tournament (left to lumi's devices). I was hoping to ask if there would be anybody gracious enough to offer a prize for the semi-finalists and finalists? (bot time, SIGS, anything else relevant for a prize?) As I'm botless, and skill-less at sigs, I'm at your mercy in terms of reward, except for the thrill of brutal victory
We're currently 10 8 entrants short of the 32 sets of brutes we need for the tourney. I will hopefully have an idea of when I'll start this tournament by Wednesday or Thursday. When I announce it, if we don't have the full field of brutes, I'll open up sign-ups for a THIRD BRUTE of your choice in order to fill out the field. Unless completely necessary, I will not put in a third brute (this tourney is for you all, I'm just here for show) ** EDIT ** SIGN-UPS NOW OPEN TO 3 BRUTES PER OWNER Also, to enter a third brute you must have named your first two brutes, so everyone who has reserved a brute can't add a third brute without the first two. This applies to ~~gaviel~~, ~~bitchy bastard~~, ~~bobthebear~~, yaboirobby, and ~~the dice man~~. From my count there's just ~~ONE SPOT~~ my bad I accidentally erased the 32nd spot so there are actually 3 2 slots left in the tourney (~~one brute for the 31st spot and~~ the two brutes for the 32nd spot) left in the tourney so if you don't act fast, you will miss out on this chance. It's FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED
EDIT: IF the last spot is filled by a new competitor with 2 brutes, I will have to expel one of the 3rd brutes to make room, either by expelling the last 3rd brute to be entered or by random drawing. (Leaning towards random drawing)

I'm making a slight change in the round-robin structure of the tourney. I will be taking Pege's Champions' League idea but making it my own. In each match a WIN = 3pts. a LOSS = 1 pt. and your totals from the matches (ex. 21 in the first round) will determine advancement. It's not much of a change, but it'll be more fun for me than just counting up W-L records, and it's my tournament, so NUTS TO YOU!!! that and I can put it into a (surprisingly complicated) table for you
