Script to restart BC

I have someone in the clan just now who has problems with his BC.

It hangs. So he can't leave it running for hours while he is out.

I'm sure I remember seeing a little script mentioned which would automatically kill the bot and restart it once an hour or something? But I can't find it .....

Anyone know/remember and can provide a link?

I have the exact same problem BTB. Tell whoever it is to try reinstalling BC (and the update) and try running the bot then. It seems to work a little better then.

The script would still be helpful though, cause my bot cuts off from time to time.

I'm sure someone posted something.

if that actionaz script doesn't work properly for him, Bob, I can set one up for him like I did for Yaboirobby and arnassa and myself and anyone else I set up with bc

It is a guy in DOOM (brute name is "Zerkill"). He doesn't speak much English so if anyone that has posted speaks good French, you could just be his saviour! :)

I'm writing again... Yab said he had problems with the link so i changed my script to post it here. Please make a config.xml copy before resetting. I dont wanna change the brute answering part... xD

I'm going to try this. I use winautomation to restart my BC every 10mins, but when my BC crashes, my script can't close and restart correctly.

Thanks, but I'm just a novice who got lucky with a fast reconnecting modem. I would make a decent partner if I could make a stable script with error correction, but that's not the case.

Credit goes to bamb@m who gave me a big hint about using DOS to close the BC.

Here is the bat file that worked for me:

@ECHO OFF
cd c:\windows\system32
start taskkill /IM javaw.exe /F
EXIT

BTW, I'm on an island so I don't think information about my ISP provider is of any use. It's local.

kenichiro, since this thread is about restarting, I will finish what I started in pm by telling you that I use a winauto script to run that command in DOS if bc freezes, and then that script will restart bc as well. it is a "monitor" script I made that runs in conjunction with the other scripts I use to make bc run automatically. I'm not as good as bob to be able to put all parts of the script in one file, but it does work

IIRC, your island is the Philippines, right? just curious... my island is Guam, so we're neighbors

I'm in Hawaii. I have a handful of friends and family in Guam. We Islanders (Guam included) live "e komo mai."

Hawaii .... Guam .... I'm on an island as well ... only mine is cold, windy and usually pishing with rain.

yes, Bob, but it does have nice castles . I'd like to visit one day.

and kenichiro, I actually had to look that one up because I've only spent 10 days total on Hawaii, when I was visiting family myself (my sis was a Navy wife )
