brutal combo v1.4.00

version 1.3.00 will not work for me, opens and after about a minute it closes automatically.

o.k., working now, guess my folders labeled 1.3.00 have the 1.4.00+ update, happened to have an older version saved and it's working fine for training.

i just downloaded 1.3 and it doesn't work for me, only 1.2.02 works. Why could this be?

all my pupils were created with version 1.2 , my java is set correctly in my PC , i downlowded all versions from BC release topic and evry time i get the same Problem. i even reinstalled windows xp and still the same ERROR.

@Rico: there may be conflicts due to the different database versions. Maybe, I don't know.

Anyway, I had problems with 1.3 as well, IIRC I followed this procedure:
1) Take the full version 1.2.00
2) Apply the successive updates up to version 1.3, without overwriting the directory lib
3) Copy your latest database: overwrite the data directory

If it still doesn't work, you may try to overwrite the directory lib as well (keep the one from BC 1.4.01). Of course overwrite your opponents.txt as well.
I hope this will do it, otherwise it may be due to database version conflicts as GOML reported just above. In this case I hope you have an older backup.

I someone is experiencing BC to open then close it may be due as well to wrong versions of the other configuration files. If you procedd as explained above it should work. Otherwise take an older backup (previous BC version) of your DB.


EDIT: this way I could train DBs that were created with BD 1.4.01, 1.3.00, and 1.2.01.

well actualy i allready have done these 3 steps before and i just tried them again with no luck. i tried every version 1.2.0 1.2.1, 1.2.2 and 1.3 with the latest db and the oldest db with lvl1 pupils. but the same problem.
idk but i gess i could explain it that my Internet connection Provider (kind of complicated) is somehow blocking BC from loading the Opponent list. because i tried BC last week before the last BE in another computer with another internet connection and the trainning worked.
but just so i can know if there is anything i can do to fix the problem, does anyone here have the same ERROR as me or am i the only one???
