Make sure you have opponents for level 0. Plus it seems the Bot won't do the battles until every Pupil can fight again against the opponents in your opponents.txt file.

Remember, My Brute prevents you from fighting the same opponents within a short period of time. For instance, if you fight against "WeakBruteA" 1 hour before Server Reset, and then when Server Reset hits you try to fight against the same Brute after that short time span you will notice you get a replay of the battle you did 1 hour ago.

Look at the property named "delay", that is the one of interest. It tells the bot how many seconds to wait after resetting the IP before repeating the whole process: Pupil Brute creation, IP reset.

I have the delay set to 70, so 70 seconds is plenty for my router to reset.

Yes, check your connection. Probably the DHCP server at your ISP didn't renew your IP, as such your PC doesn't have assigned an IP belonging to your ISP's network. In other words: No IP assigned = No Internetz!!

I have encountered this problem if I set the delay too low (that is, my PC is making DHCP request very often for DHCP server's liking).

That delay doesn't take into account the IP resetting step. It works like this:

1) Create Pupil (around 15 seconds)
2) Reset IP
3) After the Reset IP routine finishes wait "delay" time.

So, you have to wait 70 seconds AFTER resetting your IP before the Bot creates a new Pupil.

I can't tell that for sure. I used to have the delay time set to 5 seconds. But then the DHCP server would reject my requests for 5 to 10 minutes. My only assumption is that I was making IP requests too often for the DHCP server to handle/allow. I have set it now to 30 seconds and is working just fine (slower than before yes, but steady).

So maybe the same thing is happening to you, I really don't know. Razz

What time did you set for the delay time?
Have you checked your IP configuration after resetting your IP?
Are you using a Router, a Modem or is your PC getting the IP directly?

new problem: i have 10 lvl 1 brutes in the oppnents file... but it shows the message:
WARN warning : not enough opponents for level 1

how do i change this?

The delay time in the config file is the time the bot waits AFTER it gets a signal that your Internet connection is being re-established. It then waits those additional seconds for the connection to finish before it re-activates and continues creating pupils.

@ Dentist Jed,
you should see in the interface window the statement,"IP Rest". Wait and let the bot re-activate and continue. It is in wait mode then until it times out.

You can change the time in the config file to whetever you think your SW will handle, but give it enough time to re-establish the connection and you will see fewer errors when you are re-connecting. Wink

but i have a new problem now: i dont see the gui anymore... if i execute the brutal-combo.jar file i see the cmd opening and also the loading message... but the form of the bot with everything in it doesnt appear... but i dont know why...

His bat seemed to have lost the link to the jar. Not sure quite how it managed it but I RAR'd up my install and sent it to him and it worked.

Still having problems, so I put some echo commands in my resetIP.bat to see what is happening. The config.xml delay is set to 70 seconds.

Thankfully, Ive got my bot to work now by using an alternative resetIP.bat. I guess it just didnt like my first bat. Much happier now.

On the config file .... you are correct. Masters are the brutes you want the pupils to go to. Password is only if you want to passowrd your pupils (I leave it blank personally) and you need to tell it which site in the first field so "COM" for the mybrute.com site.

For the opponents, try this:
