Yes!!! Finally we will (hopefully) get a new league running!
After that pair of moderators has been giving us tournaments run by elimination... I've deceided, and I got their aprovement (as if me or anyone else needed it...) to try to run a league, or, how I preffer to call it, a real tournament.
I got this idea by my experience in playing Magic The Gathering, a trading cards game. I don't play it anymore but, if anyone of you has played it and has been to a tournament (or many of them), you will probably know how tournaments are run there.
The exact program to run them is DCI Reporter, I'll be using version 3. The peculiarity of the method it uses to run the tournament is that every player (or brute) will be paired against another one of the same level. So the ones heading the list, with most points, will play against players with same number of points unless they have already played.
At the end of the tournament there will be a classification by points, and will be a cut to Top 8 or Top 4, yet to decide.
Matches will be run with 9 seeds, but splitted in three groups of 3. Meaning that winning on the first 3 seeds will give you a point, winning on second 3 a second point and winning on the third, a third point.
Third group will only be needed if the match is tied after the first 2.
Every player that decides so, will be able to drop from the tournament after each round.
I also got another idea that could be implemented, like giving special titles. A way to do it would be to let people register their brute in 2 different levels, so that we would have a "low level winner" title, I don't know.
What am I asking you? Yes, I need you to give your opinion about it to me, specially about:
-What Level?
-Will be use draws for anything? Leagues accept draws, so a draw could be giving to anyone not posting the result (both of the pair)
-Prizes? There are no prizes decided yet, and I cannot assure you I can give exp.
-Number of rounds? This is an important one.
-Closed registered list or unlimited?
-Special titles?
-General opinion
I will probably need help from the mods to check the results of the matches and editing first page probably, but I will run the pairings myself.
