is it possible to counterattack an attack while carriing the shurikens or the rice bowl?

I believe I saw my brute attack back with her fists (prob from pugnacious), while holding shurikens.

We can Counter with melee attack / weapons...
I think It is impossible to stab with a noodle bowl or Shuriken...
Knife is Possible..

With the shuriken you can counter, I have done it multiple times myself..
Not sure about the bowl..
