| Hi all i got my new connection but i'm having problems creating a reconnect.bat that actually works. right now i have to switch off and on for it to work but i want the bot to be running 24 hours without me being on the desktop.
Btw my router is, D-Link DSL-2740R
anyone who bothers to help will get a slot from me when things start to work out.

| first off.. the bot can NEVER run for 24 hours. You will have to stop it during TM or it will do nothing
second.. winautomation is what most use.. so you may want to try that route

thanks for that, i forgot about tm but anyway how do you use winautomation? You record a macro so that it automaticly reconnects your router as you let the macro keep looping, i'm sure you can find a torrent of it somewhere. Anyway got this as answer a while back myself. - rima-mano wrote:
- - click Tools
- select to Record Macros
A new window will pop-up.
Where it says, "Record mouse action relative to"
Click on "screen"
Now do ctrl + alt + s and then double click on your reconnect file.
ctrl + alt + s again to stop recording.
- Click Ok.
Check the screen. It should be just one line that tells it to create a double click.
- Click File - Choose Update Job and Close
Now you should be back to the main winauto console window. Right-click on resetIP and select generate .EXE. That should give you the resetIP file you need.

| Well that doesn't help much now does it? What have you tried out so far? What type of errors do you get (if any)? try to provide some information so people can help you. | |

| you did not configure your config file for your reconnect, if you even have one already. if you do not, you need to make one first, then put it in your bc folder, and change your config file to look for that reconnect. my current one is "reconnect 2", so my config shows: - Code:
-
<bean id="ipResetter" class="labrute.ip.ExternalIPResetter"> <property name="command" value="reconnect 2.exe"/> </bean>

| What are you trying to point to to do your reconnect?
"mybrutebot" doesn't appear to be a valid file?
As Nasic says, WinAuto is the easiest to set up.
Google for "WinAutomation MRX" and thats a clean copy. Install it and follow the instructions above. Once you get going with it, it's pretty easy to use.
And as bam says, it's better if the reconnect app is in the BC folder ....

| is that ever since you first installed it? what operating system are you running? xp? vista? 7? mac?
in addition, there are times I choose to stop the winauto service, and when I restart it, I get a similar error. however, mine just says to go to tools and start the service, which I do and it works again. when you get your error, does the winauto console open, or not?
p.s. bob, have you heard of anyone trying to install winauto on windows7 yet? I was installing on someone's computer, and found I have to use a combination of winauto and actionaz, winauto for commands and actionaz for clicking because his computer will not allow winauto to make clicks...

| open your task manager (crtl+alt+del), you may find a javaw.exe process running. same thing happens on the computer I've been installing a script on. the error is that a bc is already running. so a second bc cannot access the same db. did you get any errors while installing on win7? - BobTheBear wrote:

(Only upgraded from W2K about a year ago! ) I'm gonna keep xp until I'm forced to upgrade the next time I get a new computer (hopefully years from now )

Even when I bought my last box .... I just bought a barebones with no O/S so I could have just stuck 2K on it again. Seemed like a reasonable time to upgrade to XP though .... they'd had about 6 years to develop it by that stage so I figured it might just about be stable! That was what I liked about 2K ... it never crashed!

| I meant did you get errors installing winauto on win7?
and bob, yeah, I was asking if you've heard of anyone having errors. if not, that may have to be a disclaimer in the future, since winauto is not upgraded or optimized for win7 yet, so it may be that different computers have errors in winauto in different ways (the one I'm setting up won't click, some won't run, etc.)

| @ bob, I got his winauto working, but the same issue, no mouse clicks. so you will not be able to do anything with win7 unless someone finds an upgrade, or just use a combo of winauto and actionaz... | |
