Today I made myself a pupil, and it had the giant club. The brute who was master had that as well. I was wondering if pupils can get traits from their master.

no everything is random and the club is very common weapon

Indeed it seems there's an old belief about brutes genetic inheritance that sporadically arises.
Don't believe them. Random is their world.
