Yes.
If you want to train, use BC version 1.3.00 which doesn't rely on the server in order to train.

You can use as well an earlier version of BC, but the pre-1.3 versions rely on the old table "brutes" and not the new table "brutes2" which means that those old versions won't train brutes created with BC version 1.3 and above.

Version 1.4.00 and above introduced some security improvements to protect the code which has the effect that BC cannot launch when the BC server is down.
Luckily we still have all the previous versions available in the original release topic ;-)
