The "Same or New Destiny" Thread

lets take this thread for every hard decision you have to make.

first will be mine:

same or new destiny ?

if vital is in the first 5 levels, get it and choose diff. options

if not, new destiny

new destiny

New Destinity

It depends when you got longsword/vitality/martial arts. If those were at early levels, choose same.

Agreed. Vitality almost always comes early, and there's probably a 1 in 4 chance you'll get it in your new destiny, so don't decide based on that. But if martial arts and epee come early, choose same and veer off when you get down the road. It looks like you chose Force upgrades three times, which is probably a waste, and you can definitely pass on the hatchet and/or pugnace. Keep your endurance upgrades though.

Ill just use this thread to ask for destiny advice since it's here and ya'll have good advice:

I have a brute who has a whip and is doing very well with jsut the whip. This level (6) he is offered to get a epee (longsword) or +3 agility. Do you think it will benefit him more to have a second high damage weapon or to just stick it out with just the whip?

I'm inclined to skip the longsword because I think he will take it out, miss a lot, and lose matches that he wouldn't with only the whip available.

what about choc or vandalism? You will need more than 1 weapon and I wish I was offered the longsword. I would always pick the longsword. I have yet to have it offered. Also sometimes my brute will throw his weapon at the beginning of the game. Always pisses me off when they have no more lol.

vitality is not that important in muxxu, the only important thing he has is Material Arts and if he got it early , he wont need any woepons anymore he just can take only the very good ones like longsword, flail,whip and sai if offered.
but if not, taking skills and stats (strength as first Priority) would be more than enough...

I need some other input. Her lack of strength and martial arts are what have me thinking new destiny.

It's more helpful to see her destiny skill tree. Is there a point under lvl 10 where you already have choc, shield, armor, and can branch off in a new direction? I would avoid getting the sabotage skill if I could. I think it is always smarter to stick with an old destiny and try out different directions so that you can (potentially) refine it and make it the best possible destiny.


I took your advice to take the Epee and he has done very well (wins 8-9 fights a day and he seems to prefer using the epee to the whip) - but the skill choices since then aren't the best, so I will try my own advice once he wins his tourney.

I'm thinking next destiny I will select ballerina at lvl 2 and see where that goes. (unless between now and then he gets some great skills).

Yeah I didn't know what sabotage was when i first took it and i was mad at myself for it. However if I remember correctly bomb, 6senese, choc and feline all came after. After taking sabotage I win at least 8 fights per day.

In my opinion, your 4 best skills are Shield, Choc, Armor, Bomb. Since sabotage is 100% useless to you, and picking it only leads to 2 good abilities, I think it would be worth while next time to pick the other choice instead of sabotage (stats probably). You will lose choc and bomb, but who knows, you might get even better stuff and at least you won't basically be throwing a level away by choosing sabotage.

true maybe i'll get martial arts or herc strength I believe i chose sabotage over +3 endurance. I guess I'll find out.

Bomb/armor are good everything else is kinda meh. If you didn't get those until later I might try a new destiny.

I chose same but I think I might try a different path and see how it works.
