Rexxar .... you mean the "l-mqt82.exe" file?

You need to paste it in the "bin" folder of the QTP installation.

It will be something like:

C:\Program Files\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest Professional\bin\

You need to go INTO the "bin" folder and put the "l-mqt82.exe" file in there and run it.

Make sure you get this bit right. If you get it wrong and screw up the install/crack and mess up the QTP registry entries, it can be a real pig getting it all fully un-installed (you need a cleaner file - QTP is notorious for leaving bits of itself behind in the registry) ...

And what do you mean "i dont have IE on my qtp version only mozzilla" ???

I though you said you had IE7?

The version of QTP you're installing won't work with FireFox .....

IE has nothing to do with it at this stage.

You put the "l-mqt82.exe" file in the "bin" folder, which is part of the QTP install.

Then you run "l-mqt82.exe".

when i run that exe file it errors after opening

It need to be in the correct place (ie. in the "bin" folder) when you run it.

If you run it from the wrong place, it won't work.

The file has to be in the right place on your computer when you run it.

I has to be in a certain folder (the "bin" one I keep talking about).

If the file is in the wrong place when you run it .... it won't work!

OK .... check that the crack has applied correctly.

Load QTP, goto Help > About > License .... and make sure it says your license is unlimited.

After that .... have you download the current version of my script? (Page 1 of this thread for a link)

Grab that, and READ THE README.TXT .... full instructions are in there.

QTP is the program .... you need to download my script to run it with QTP.

In the RAR with my script there is a README.TXT file.

That contains full instructions on how to set up QTP to run my script. Read it, and follow it ... CAREFULLY. Give it a few trys and if you get totally stuck ... post up again ....

Tools > Options > Run (tab)

and uncheck "View results when run session ends"

i dont have fight.xls i only have default.xls

What do you mean you can't open it?

You put the "Brute - Auto-Fight" folder that you donwloaded in my RAR into the "Tests" folder inside the QTP install.

Then load QTP, goto File > Open > Test and navigate to the "Tests" folder (you shouldn't have to do anything though ... it should look there by default) and "Brute - Auto-Fight" should be available to load.

What happens when you try?

(You are running Vista ... the version you have is not certified for Vista so that could be a problem .... if you have messed up the registry when doing the install, then you have a problem)

What are you launching it from? The shortcut it put on your desktop or the start menu item it added?

The install completed OK.

What about running the crack files? You had trouble with that. Did you do it several times and some of them didn't work? That can mess it up.

How "clean" is your PC? Is it well maintained and looked after? A messy PC can cause problems ... also is it a decent spec PC?

Finally .... you are running Vista! It could be as simple as that. Some people have got 9.0 to work on Vista ... others haven't.

Well I downloaded QTP and got it installed, I can load and run the script it starts going through brings up the excel spreadsheet, and opens mybrute in ie and the script is looping through but nothing ever happens then I get a message saying QTP has stopped working.

I keep my PC pretty clean, it is fairly old though about two years, is it possible that is the issue? Also I see where it has had some troubles on Vista which I run...

Vista can be a problem. (with v9.0 anyway)

What version of IE?

Exactly how far does it get? Does it get past the mybrute homepage and into a cell?

And finally ... when you say "QTP stops working" ... whats the exact error message? If I'm gonna try and work out whats wrong, I need detail!

It gets to the mybrute home page but does not enter a cell.

And the error message I get is that QuickTest Professional has stopped working.

Then says A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Then the only option is to close the program.

KD ... try this ...

First do a full reset of IE7. (in IE ... Tools > Internet Options > Advanced - RESET button .... this will wipe your IE and set it back to default)

Once it's reset, disable tabbed browsing (In IE ... Tools > Internet Options > General > Tabbed Browser settings - uncheck)

Once you have done that ...

Although, I don't like that QTP is actually crashed .... that could be Vista related.

Also make sure ActiveX and Web are both ticked in the addins box when you run QTP.
