Here's what I'm using: - Code:
-
ipconfig /release
::The static IP address, mask and gateway chosen here are arbitrary. netsh interface IP set address "name_of_your_network_connection" static 1.2.3.4 255.0.0.0 1.2.3.4.5 1
::Change back to dynamic IP allocation netsh interface ip set address name="name_of_your_network_connection" source=dhcp
ipconfig /renew
exit You have to acknowledge that from time to time you might get repeated IPs likely due to the assignment made by the DHCP server at your ISP. Thank you very much! Now I won't be making so many non-exp pupils :) So I guess just changing from static back to dynamic forces a new IP change, or prevents getting same one back? Also had to remove the ".5" in 1.2.3.4.5 to accept it as a gateway.Btw, when I ran it with the old script last night, it was stuck not being able to contact DHCP server. Tried resetting TCP/IP back to default, even manually changing to static and back. My spare was without internet for awhile. Then remembered Bob saying he was able to reconnect by hooking up a router, so tried it and it worked. Went back to straight modem and worked again also. So don't think it's caused by my provider, but something in my comp. So this is kind of a fix, for those who get stuck with this problem. - arnassa wrote:
how to put name pupils ? and where put those name pupils ? Don't see such option in my french version's GUI....though didn't really examine the xmls or java script. Makes random names. Why I don't save password, since I'll never make one as my main (though my names aren't so original either).

Ooops, that was a typo on my part. :p It should be "1.2.3.5". And yes, switching from dynamic to static and back to dynamic makes the DHCP server to do a new assignment. - arnassa wrote:
how to put name pupils ? and where put those name pupils ? You don't name your pupils. The Bot generates a random 8 characters long String made up entirely of lower-case letters to name pupils. It does so in order to get statistically different names and avoid getting repeated names. If you really want to name your pupils then you'll need to know how to program in Java and follow the instructions given in the Manual.

| Yes.
But ONLY pupils that you create using it.
You can't use it to train any other ones you may already have ....

| In simple terms ....
French bot creates pupils = French bot CAN train those pupils
French bot did NOT create the pupils = French bot CAN NOT train those pupils

| There are some browser base auto-trainers on here arnassa. Look around and try those. They don't train pupils nearly as fast as BC but it's still automatic and beats doing it manually. | |

| lol Look at page 1 of this thread! There are link and details on the first post! But a couple of tips - 1. It WON'T train the pupils you already have. (As we keep saying) 2. Get yourself a working reconnect file first! ( Start here! (Click!) ) | |

| Not that simple I'm afraid.
I don't use a bat file .... or an exe .... I actually wrap my bot in a QTP script and use that control the bot and the reconnect.
This is mainly due to my stupid ISP provided router.
So in other words, I run the whole thing sort of back to front compared to other people.
What I do know is that some reconnect files that worked with other bots don't seem to work properly with this one.
You should be getting a message to say that the reconnect has completed and your IP has been reset. You don't seem to be getting that, I'm afraid I have no idea why?
And you say your reconnect.bat runs OK when run by itself?
You need someone like winni who knows the devs of this thing to come in and comment here .... I'm afraid I don't know why it doesn't work with it ....
The only thing I can suggest is extending the delay in the brutal combo config.xml to give the reconnect more time to complete. This *shouldn't* make any difference really as this is the delay that happens AFTER the IP has reset but it's about the only thing that is easily user configerable so you might as well try it ....

ERROR Failed to start database 'data/db', see the next exception for details. I've gotten that error after running the .jar file directly, quitting, and later restarting as on my system it tends to leave an instance of javaw.exe in memory locking the database. Try using the bat file or command prompt instead of using the jar directly if that's the same issue you're running into (note you'll have to unlock the files before trying or you'll end up with the same error and the easiest way to get rid of any lingering processes is likely to be restarting your system first). I imagine that the error could be caused by a number of other things though, so this is just a possibility. @winni or anyone that happens to know:With the information ouput by the Export option, is there any specific reason for level 40 being used and can this be set to a different level anywhere? Thanks.... esc-g
