hades already had bc working on one computer (I set it up), so assuming this is the same computer:


hades, I have to ask if you altered the config (like changing masters), and if the problem occurred after that. if so, you need to put in a fresh config file because you edited the old one in a way that made it unusable by the bc program, and the fastest way to fix it is to just get a fresh copy and change the info again. check your pm

Im no expert on windows 7, but you could try to "run the program as administrator" and also "run the program with XP compatibility".

I'm with bamb@m, when BC was running on that computer before it mostly depents on a corrupted config when BC will not start. First test would be to take the original config and opponents file to check if BC is running with them.

Or just alter the brutal-comb.bat to this:

This prevents the closing of the bat after the error so that you can read the error message and post it here

the bot works fine for the first ip but stops after changing the ip (ip already in use). My reconnect.bat is working and I checked the IP adress via www.wieistmeineip.de which is changing. My router changes only the last 2 of the 4 numbers of the ip. Is this the problem? I thought that's normal.
When I restart the program I can create a new pupil. So I can say that I really got a new IP just the bot doesn't believe me :/

PS: Where do you all get the english version? I understand some French but English would be better

This link also tells me that I get a new ip by my resetIP.bat

For example:

and after reconnect

95.114.113.22

i fix that problem i had with installing microsoft office!!! :!:
I don't know what that have to do with the program but anyway it fixed it.

I will try though run it as administrator with xp combatibility.

If you say the problem is fixed, then dont do anything.
Well, a thing you must always do is update windows very often. Sometimes windows has bugs that get corrected with update packs.

in fact, Brutal combo fails to get ip from www.wieistmeineip.de

nah, the tutorial hasn't been updated, even though there are several IP checkers that had to be rotated for a bit while one or two of them were down. might be a good idea to post all possible ipcheckers and let the installer decide which to use

When it says "Failed to start database "data/db" , see the next exception for details.

What does that mean???

It makes pupils and doesn't give me any xp!!!

How can i fix that???

it will "fail to start db" if you have more than one bc open for one particular db. whichever bc you opened first on that db will be the only one with access to that particular db. close all bc and reopen the one you want, and it should be ok.

if you already closed all bc before opening the one that you want and it still says "error", you have a different situation. I have encountered cases before where even if you close bc, it will keep running in the background, and you have to open your task manager (ctrl+alt+del), and find a process called javaw.exe and end all of those tasks to be sure you kill bc, then try running it again. there should be no error the next time you open bc.

Hi guyz ... I downloaded the program and followed the tut on the first page :) ...

I got my oponents list set up and my pupil creation thing is done too but when i open the program and click the Actions->Creation automatique i get this message
"ERROR error while calling the web service: Wrong version" ... Im sorry if this question has already been answered but its a lil difficult to read all 73 pages of this thread

All things are done....I have a problem however...It doesnt ccr8 pupils that give xp...The problem is that resetip.bat does not work....(I dont know anything about computers)(when i close my modem the IP changes)(I have downloaded the other program and tested is also but nothing changr)Thanks for your time...You did a gr8 job with this program..

i went to the page and saw that it created the pupil but it didn't do tha fights.

When i push "combat" it will do them? or i have to do them manually?

When you push combats, it will complete the fights if you have opponents in the opponents.txt file.
