How to find your dream brute without analyzing your BC database?

Now, what I would like is a program that utilizes a bank of id numbers to search a DB without having to do it manually with each number.

No, actually i've been entering ALPHWON and his clone the same day and they both fought, also my kickboxerkilla clone goes in it the same day as his older brother Very Happy

Important information:

Requires M$ Excel.
Doesn't necessarily need a BC export. All what you need is a plain text file with on each row "name;ID;..." (remove the quotes, and ... means any text)
When opening the file you have to accept execution of macros.
Was tested on Excel 2003 and Excel 2010.
No limit on the size of the database.
Everything is explained in the Excel file itself (quite straightforward though...).
Since version 1.1.0 and above there is a huge speed increase. Please update.

Does it work with .xls instead of .txt?

I don't understand. Just export your BC databast to any filename (really doesn't matter), for example:
hohoho.dataa
then open the Excel file and specify the filename hohoho.dataa and the path where it was stored. Specify the list of IDs and finally click on the dog...

The tool is looking for exact matches of IDs in the file, therefore it is clear that if you ask the tool to read a BC database that was reworked in Word or Excel or any other application it won't work because these applications transform the content of the plain text into something that is application-specific.

Oh, yes this is possible of course. But however then you would encounter the 65K row limitation of Excel (for example my DB has already 160K pupils...) and this would call for a further manual step (openeing the text file into Excel).
Anyway, glad you like it.

Sorry for late answer due to that timezone thing :-) ... I've added a second download link to depositfiles + updated the file with a small fix to make it work under Excel 2007.

I think I can provide the excel file of all the 1.000.000 different brutes at the level you want. It would be formatted as any usual BC export file. But I am not sure it would be really useful. From my experience, knowing WHEN a brute gets really good is a must. Finding a strong brute at level 1000 when you can't get pas level 200 is pretty useless...

If you want to do some complex analysis I can give you part of the stat computing mechanics. I have it in several langages (java, php and .Net I think. I'll give them to you on one condition: you must have an interesting "project" that would require those formulas.

P.S.: I remember when I was trying to find the best brute ID. I had found my dream brute: ID 2047... but sadly I've never been able to create a brute with this ID.

Yes, I am interested in order to run the search engine on all existing brutes and to know what are the highest stats in the game (in plain text BC export format so that the search engine can digest it). And about the target level only a few key levels are important imo, like for example 80 (BC), 200, 400.

I can think of only one project: a .Net version of a "Labrute Search Engine"-like tool with GUI and speed optimizations.

Indeed imo the Labrute Search Engine will never be able to be fast enough to cope with large databases and high target levels: PHP just isn't appropriate when it comes to computations (roughly 200 times slower than VC++, 120 times slower than VB.NET, and 100 times slower than Java - well, depends on the benchmark...).
So I have several ideas of missing features for such a search engine (GUI, target level for inventory & specialities, search based on multiple criteria like the sum of strength+agility+speed points, etc).

So if you have the code for stat computation in VB.NET only (I won't do it if it's in VC++; yes, I'm old school ;-) ) I would like to code that search engine.
