ADSL Users please try the following software as a connect/disconnect program:
http://download.cnet.com/ReConnect/3000-2648_4-10560013.html

Method using wget
Within your router there should be a page that enables you to connect/disconnect the router.
Once you know where this file is, view source and see what variables are being passed.

For Example:
Your router is 198.162.1.1 and there is a page called connect.html
locate the variables being passed within the source of the file say it posts "connect" with a value of "0"
So your router URL to pass would be : login:password/router IP/connect.html?connect=0

Then when you create the reconnect.bat file, you will add those paths to your .bat file.
You will need to get wget.exe in order to run the .bat file.

reconnect.bat
Code:

@echo
echo %time%
wget.exe --delete-after http://login:password@router IP/path to disable
ping 127.0.0.1 -n 1 > NUL
wget.exe --delete-after http://login:password@router IP/path to enable
ping 127.0.0.1 -n 18 > NUL

The connect/disconnect is dependent on your router, so just look in your user manual for your router to find out where you can disconnect/connect or release/renew within your router/modem browser based administration.

wget can be downloaded here:
http://users.ugent.be/~bpuype/wget/

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alternate method using curl
If curl is not installed you can find it here: http://www.paehl.com/open_source/?download=curl_719_4.zip
If you want to add sleep into your reconnect.bat file then download it here: http://www.paehl.de/reconnect/sleep.zip
- curl.exe and sleep.exe must be placed in the same directory that the reconnect.bat file is located.

If you know the name/model of your router then search for it here: http://www.paehl.de/reconnect/Curl_search.php
If your router is found then copy and paste the info displayed for your router into a new file.
- Edit the %USER%:%PWD%@%IP% part with your current settings:
User is router user name. PWD is router password. IP is IP of your router.
To get the IP of your router:
-> Start, run type in 'cmd' then click 'Ok'
-> In the black screen command line interface type ipconfig
-> The IP listed as default gateway is the IP address of your router.

Note: You should be able to login to your router by putting http://<router ip> into your browser and then entering username/password.

- save the file as reconnect.bat
- If you downloaded sleep.exe, then you can add a sleep call between the connect/disconnect calls using:
Sleep # seconds

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alternate method using ipconfig:
v1
In order to get the needed values you need to run ipconfig.

Go Start->run type in 'cmd' (no quotes) and click 'Ok'.
type 'ipconfig /all' into the black command line screen.

before saving reconnect.bat removing all << comments as they are there for help purposes.

-- start reconnect.bat --
@ECHO OFF

ECHO Here are the new settings for %hostname%:
netsh int ip show config

pause

-- end reconnect.bat --

alternate commands -change values in braces to match your settings
Change IP address and default gateway:
netsh int ip set address "local area connection" static {192.168.1.101} 255.255.255.0 {192.168.1.1} 1

Change DNS:
netsh int ip set dns "local area connection" static {192.168.1.1} primary

Change back to DHCP:
netsh int ip set address "local area connection" dhcp
netsh int ip set dns "local area connection" dhcp

To correct should it not work
---- repair.bat ----
@ECHO OFF
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /setclassid
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /renew
EXIT
---- end repair.bat ----

If you have ipv6 installed:
--- configIP.bat ---
echo off
if "%1"=="static" goto static
if "%1"=="dhcp" goto dhcp
echo Usage: %0 (static^|dhcp)
goto end2
:static
echo Setting static IP of 192.168.xxx.xxx
netsh int ipv4 set address "Local Area Connection" static 192.168.xxx.xxx 255.255.255.0 192.168.xxx.xxx 1
echo Setting primary DNS server to 192.168.xxx.xxx
netsh int ipv4 set dnsservers "Local Area Connection" static 192.168.xxx.xxx primary
goto end
:dhcp
echo Setting Dynamic (DHCP) IP
netsh int ipv4 set address "Local Area Connection" dhcp
echo Setting Dynamic (DHCP) DNS
--- end configIP.bat ---
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alternate method using Telnet scripting tool

Download telnet scripting tool here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/my1zi2zmmma/tst10.zip
Extract it to your C:\ drive so it's in C:\tst10

Edit the rebootscript.txt file with your router information.

Run the reboot.bat file.

Sorry for bad English, is that I live in Brazil.

I have ADSL connection and use an ISP to connect my internet. Do not use router, the modem only. There is a bat that I can use to change my IP? Well for me to exchange, I have to disconnect / connect to my internet provider.

Thanks
ps: Google Translator rulez;)

I'm not so good with all the technical stuff, and I just looked for over an hour to find out how to access my modem's config page. If you could, please update your info to include this link because it may help others like me to get to their page as well:

http://192.168.100.1./

Good luck to everyone else trying this out!

at that address, here is the info I see:

Cable Modem Information Center

Main
Troubleshoot

PC Connectivity:
USB: Not Connected
Ethernet: 100 BaseT Full Duplex
USB Vendor ID: 06 cc
MAC Address: 00-XX-XX-XX-XX-00
CM Model: ECM715

Cable Signal: Ready
Tuning: Complete
Ranging: Complete

Data Service: Ready
Connecting: Complete
Configuring: Complete
Registering: Complete

Current state: Operational
Highest State Obtained: Operational

that address is not my IP, which is why I was unable to follow the instructions provided. when I tried entering my IP address, it said "We did not find results for: 1xx.xx.xx.x5. Try the suggestions below or type a new query above. I also can't see any information, like username and password...

Update: I just found out some other information on another online forum (the manufacturer's information no longer exists, as it was just purchased by Motorola):

"According to the manufacturer, "There is no web interface for the configuration of this modem" so the modem must not have a built in router. The modem just allows USB bridging and is not a real router."

An additional note is that my IP address as seen on http://whatismyip.com is the same as my IP address when I view cmd ipconfig.

So, if I understand this correctly, the only way I can change my IP address is by spoofing my MAC address, as I have already been doing, correct?

If you are on cable (which it sounds like you are) then your choices are man spoofing (as you mention), proxies or using the AOL software.

Assuming your cable provider gives you a sticky (static) IP .... which 99% of cable providers do.

Ah, I see. Well, I guess I'm not desperate enough to try installing another browser (browser wars, anyone?), so both of those options are not really viable to me. Does having the same IP listed in ipconfig visible online prove what I read on that other site, that my modem isn't really a modem? What internet connection are you using? I know you said you set up a dynamic IP, since you also had a static IP.

I have a cable connection (the static one). Comes in via a Motorola Surfboard modem that connects to a Linksys Router and that in turn also runs a Linksys WAP elsewhere in the house.

My dynamic connection is an ADSL connection through the phoneline and into a crappy Sagem FAST modem/router supplied by the ISP.

I've used the ipconfig method but it seems it's not working properly.
Can anybody tell me please if there's any wrong input in my reconnect.bat file:

if you have a static IP, a reconnect.bat won't work. when you hit ipconfig release/renew, does your ip change? if not, you can't use this, just like me.

Thanks bamb@m for your reply.
I think/quite sure my IP is dinamic because, at my the router's webpage (i've got a Huawei SmartAX 882), when i hit the on/off button the IP changes everytime.
Moreover, i've been using Actionaz to automatically do all the pupils's 6 fights and disconnect/connect the internet in the router's webpage, i just have to write each pupils's name and validade it...Actionaz does the whole process for me.
As a consequence i get experience points all the time with this process.
Any hints?
Cheers my friend )

can it be that those options only work with dsl router and not with dsl modems ?
i tested all of it:

wget -> i dont have this connect path here.

curl -> doesnt find my modem.

ipconfig -> Invalid interface "Local Area Connection" has been specified.

Telnet scripting tool or routermanager -> router programms doesnt find my modem.

anyone got a solution ?
my modem is: arcor easy box a 400
