| It should do.
It's CLI (Command Line Interface) so the O/S shouldn't make any difference if you have it set up right.
You certain it's pointing to your network card with the right instructions in the shortcut?

That doesn't sound right. You should see it running. I don't think you have it set up properly. The fact that it just dissappears again so quickly suggests it isn't pointing at your network card/adapter/connection. On this thread ...... page 4, post 3 - that explains EXACTLY how to set up macshift. If it's not set up properly ...... it won't work.

| lol I don't have Vista .... and I don't speak/read the language your O/S is running! (Polish?) But ..... I *think* I know what you need. In macshift, where you have "????" in the shortcut, that should be the name of your network connection. I *think* that is "Polaczenie" I'm not 100% sure, but give that a try and see how it goes .... PS .... I accept NO repsonsibility if you somehow manage to break your internet connection here! (Highly unlikely but you never know!) | |

| Hmmm.
I'm not sure.
I don't know Vista and I can't understand the text on your display! Thats all you need though .... replace those "????" with the name of your network adapter and you should be good .....
In XP ....
Start > Settings > Network Connections
and it's the name of my "LAN or High-Speed Internet". If I hover the mouse over it (the name ... which in my case is "network") it shows the full hardware name of my network card/controller.
Not sure what the equivalent is in Vista?

| I am not sure, but I think that it just doesn't work on Vista... On page macshift i found this: 'Macshift: Change your MAC address The definitive free command-line MAC changing utility for Windows XP' | |

| Yeah .... but like I say, it's CLI so the O/S doesn't matter.
The MAC address of a network card is the same thing in XP, Vista, 2000, 98, 95 ..... probably even on a MAC. A MAC address is a MAC address.
It's just that "????" in the shortcut. As long as that is there, it WON'T work. Work out what your network card is know as and I suspect it'll work straight away.
Dunno if any of the other guys on the thread that have it working are Vista users?

| It should be the bit in the red box I think. Atheros is a network card/adapter so that must be it. So the shortcut to macshift should read: E:\Macshift\macshift.exe -r -i "Polaczenie lokalne" ^^^ exactly like that. (With the accents that appear in the polish language I assume?) When you run it, you should see a command like window for a few seconds (5 to 10 seconds or so) saying it's changing the MAC address of the adapter .... | |

| I had 1 exp once, but now i don't receive more exp... I have question 2. Switch off your modem. 3. Connect the PC you plan to use directly to the modem, via ethernet. 6. Power your modem back up and wait for your PC to establish a connection. I don't understand point 3. I have to switch off my modem, and then what? I have to switch on it? Or what? If I switch on at point 3, I can't switch on it again at point 6, so I think that I have to do something else xP | |

| Swicth modem off.
Run ccleaner to clear all data (cookies, flash data etc)
Run macshift.
Switch modem back on .... it will give new IP becuase you "macshifted".
Load the site, make pupils.
Repeat.
Watch as you may not get your connection back immediately after a few tries.
With one connection I get 3 goes then have to wait about 3 hours.
With my other I get 2 goes then have to wait about 20/30 minutes.

| How good it is now totally depends on your ISP. If it just lets you keep doing this, and never forces you to wait until it will give you a new IP, you pretty much now have a dynamic IP. | |

| I think I just have it set up to clear all temporary data.
The main one is the flash data in the macromedia folder - which is where the mybrute data is stored ..... it clears that by default I think.
You could do it manually - just like in the guides for dynamic IP people - I just find it easier to run ccleaner.
