| Well, but you won't get XP for my pupils, because my IPs are often used. Or do you still gain XP, if I make you a pupil with an IP that I've already used on two of my brutes? Edit: Nope, didn't work. But how did you get so much pupils with static IP? :O Nevertheless, I will make pupils on your brute, everytime I get an valid IP. And at the end of the day I'll leave a pm here with the list of every pupil. Just pm me, if you have questions (like what brute of mine you shall pupil ) Btw: I just realized that your ava is Gaara. xD Looks wierd though. :S Guess who's mine?

| Just found out, that I can manually change my IP and get more XP. As I already said some posts before, I only get IPs starting with 77.20.169.XXX and 95.89.114.XXX. Thus my limit of IPs was reduced to 500... So I wrote down the DNS server and gateway of my current IP, and typed them in manually. In this case it was 95.89.114.51 as IP. Just for fun I changed it to 95.89.115.51 and boom, got a new pupil with XP. So if I always change the last number of the third block by one, after getting my pupil, I'll double my limit to 1000 pupils. Let's see how far I can change the IP manually. Oh, and did I mention it works WITHOUT resetting the modem? :!: | |

| Depends on you provider... I DID lose the connection as I ran macshift more than 3 times. But I simply could reset the modem and I got my connection again. I'm afraid you have to try. | |

| Nope.
I can do three .... then the modem won't reconnet for a couple of hours .... to anything new.
But I can still connect it to the router which it already knew tha MAC address for.
I have two PC's. I use the secondary PC hooked direct to the modem for this.

| Maybe your provider thinks 3 IPs in such a short time are enough. Who knows... | |

| I don't think it's a problem if you use vista, because it's just a simple cmd programm. | |

It's down to your ISP .... not something you can control. In my case, it just seems to be that their DHCP server will only give me 3 IP's one after the other. After that, I have to wait.

| As I already told you before , macshift will work on every OS, because it's not a specific software, but a commandline program. | |

| You need to set the command line prompts up correctly on the macshift shortcut you create.
You need to identify your network connection properly.
In other words, you need to follow the instructions on the macshift website or the ones shown several times in this thread.
If it does nothing at all, you haven't set it up right.
I'm not repeating the instructions AGAIN .... re-read the thread.
Page 4, post 3 ... would probably be a good place to start .... it CANNOT be made any clearer than that.
PLUS .... you mention other people using the internet connection? So is it on a router?

FROM THE FIRST POST IN THE THREAD .... THE ORIGINAL INSTRCTIONS - BobTheBear wrote:
- 1. A PC. If you have a second/spare PC you can use, all the better.
2. Ideally, a direct connection to your modem. You can probably do it with a router, but I've never tried it. This guide assumes a direct connection to the modem. 3. The modem needs to be connected by ethernet. No idea how you would do it with USB - don't even know if it would work. You obviously haven't read or understood the thread. At which point, I stop answering stupid questions which you can find the answers to in the first page of the thread.

| How do you identify the name of your network connection with Vista? Is it under network and sharing center somewhere? | |
