| Does it kill your internet connection?
If your IP is tied to a specific MAC address, and you change that MAC address, you should lose your connection. You would need to phone your ISP and tell them the new MAC to get it back.
If it's not breaking your connection, you're doing something wrong.
You're not connected through a router are you?
If you are, are you bypassing the router and connecting the computer DIRECTLY to the modem?
If you go through a router, changing the MAC address of your network card won't make the slightest bit of difference ......

| You can spoof your MAC address rather than resorting to this macshift program. Regardless of either option, if your router includes NAT for your protection, and many do, these options will not work. You can, however, tunnel your traffic to another source and redirect it to mybrute. Your best option with this is SSH tunneling or stunnel. | |

i followed your steps but still not working. Maybe. But you didn't answer my question ...... How are you connected? Router? or Modem? If it's through a router, you may have problems. If you're stuggling with this, I'm not going anywhere near trying to set up any tunnelling for you!

Cool! Glad you got there in the end! And 60 pupils?!?!?!? I take it you don't have the "3 tries" limit? I can't do that many in a full day .... never mind 2 hours! No matter though ..... I should have a dynamic IP by the end of the week. :)

| okey heres how i do the static self pupiling. 1. turn my modem off. 2. run macshift 3. turn my modem on. 4. pupil myself 5. run macshift again (only works 2 times at the 3rd time you need to turn off modem again) 6. pupil again. then back to step 1 i can make maybe 40 pupils per hour. thanks for sharing bob! | |

| Yea I dont get it whit the macshift Part,
I dont see a guide how to confid it could you make it if its not too hard i see you have a lot of pupils, so its easy for you. When I click macshift pops a run window and turns off is it normal? and the "guide" in the site is ridiculous... I dont understand a thing.. ><

| Lol that's right bob. And I have the same procedure as kaixxpzs. I made about 57 pupils in 2 hours (30 on one brute, 27 on the other). But I have a kind opf big problem now. I often get a used IP... That sux, because I may have to start the modem again, without getting ANY pupil. :/ Is there a chance for getting more random MACs? | |

| Try running macshift more than once between pupils/resets.
I'm not convinced the random number seeding in it is that great!
ie. Run it twice instead of once. See if that helps. If it does, keep using it until you start getting a lot of dud IP's, then start doing 3 resets ... etc.

| If always try twice, but I noticed that I only get IPs starting with 77. and 95. :O And as the 3 first blocks are always the same, there's a total of 500 IPs... That really sux. xD Bob do you know if there's a way to reset your modem from your pc? Like a software or a batchfile? With a router it's easy, but I didn't find anything relating to modems on google. :silent: | |

| Ah. You seem to be in a smaller IP pool than me. The last two blocks always change for me. I've created several hundred pupils for myself and get maybe 1 or 2 out of 10 don't work. I suspect the IP pool for us people on longer term leased IP's (or static if you want) maybe have a smaller IP pool than the dynamic IP people. It would make sense. - Aaerox wrote:

Not sure. I guess you could try "ipconfig/release" through the command line, change your MAC, then back into the command line and "ipconfig/renew" ..... it might work? Dunno ....

Nevertheless you have a bigger IP pool than me... Must be the ISP. - BobTheBear wrote:

Didn't work, as it just resets the IP, just like Macshift. As for now, it's actually rare that I get an "unused" IP. Pretty annoying, yeah.

| @kaixxpzs: If I pupil you now and you pupil me with the same number of pupils, isn't it easier to just pupil myself? But if I find some time (and free IPs ) I'll do it. Guess it's the brute in your sig? | |
